{"id":4127,"date":"2025-02-15T11:05:04","date_gmt":"2025-02-15T10:05:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifeprobv.quebrantahuesos.org\/iberian-strategy-for-the-conservation-of-the-bearded-vulture-approved\/"},"modified":"2025-10-19T10:06:44","modified_gmt":"2025-10-19T08:06:44","slug":"iberian-strategy-for-the-conservation-of-the-bearded-vulture-approved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifeprobv.quebrantahuesos.org\/en\/iberian-strategy-for-the-conservation-of-the-bearded-vulture-approved\/","title":{"rendered":"Iberian strategy for the conservation of the bearded vulture approved"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the objectives of the LIFE Pro Bearded Vulture project is the approval of an Iberian strategy for the conservation of the Bearded Vulture, for which work began on the same day of the presentation of the LIFE.<\/p>\n<p>There is no doubt that the application of the previous Spanish bearded vulture conservation strategy, approved in 2000, has contributed to the recovery of the population in the Pyrenees and its recent extension towards the Basque mountains and the Iberian system. In addition, reintroduction projects are being carried out in Picos de Europa, Andalucia and Gredos. Its gradual recovery in the Spanish mountains has led to a slow but steady increase in its observations in Portugal, where it became extinct between the 19th and 20th centuries.<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, the revision of the Spanish Bearded Vulture Conservation Strategy of the year 2000 has been revised with a new vision that integrates the entire Iberian Peninsula. The new document revises the content of the 2000 strategy and has been prepared by the General Directorate of Biodiversity, Forests and Desertification of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO) and the Instituto da Conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da Natureza e das Florestas of Portugal and by the Autonomous Communities with a stable presence of bearded vultures.<\/p>\n<p>On the Spanish side, the document was approved at the Sectoral Conference on the Environment on 13-2-2025.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.miteco.gob.es\/content\/dam\/miteco\/es\/biodiversidad\/publicaciones\/estrategias\/estrategia-quebrantahuesos-25.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Strategy for the conservation of the Bearded Vulture (Gypaetus barbatus) in Spain and Portugal (2025)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of the objectives of the LIFE Pro Bearded Vulture <a
