General Objective
To reduce the long-term risk of extinction of the main European population of the Bearded Vulture by recovering its former distribution area in the Iberian Peninsula.

Reintroduction of the Bearded Vulture in the Sierra de Gredos. At the end of the project it is expected to have 1-2 territorial pairs and a population of 15 birds.

Consolidate the reintroduced bearded vulture population in Picos de Europa by releasing new birds. At the end of the project it is expected to have 3-4 pairs and a population of 35 birds.

Consolidate a potential breeding nucleus of bearded vultures in Moncayo, formed by vagrants from the Pyrenees. At the end of the project it is expected to have 1 territorial pair and a population of 6-7 birds.

To develop a Spanish-Portuguese Iberian Bearded Vulture conservation strategy to promote the recovery of the species in its former breeding areas. At the end of the project, the strategy is expected to be approved and to have established a working group.
